Incapacity Planning 101 – Powers of Attorney and Health Care Directives

Earlier this month Jen and Jayne, along with Epilawg colleagues Maggie Green and Jamie Held, presented a live webcast on Incapacity Planning 101: Powers of Attorney and Health Care Directives. This webcast is through Minnesota CLE, which provides continuing legal education to attorneys and judges throughout the state of Minnesota. Topics included when to use and the differences between a common law power of attorney and the Minnesota Statutory Short Form Power of Attorney; tax treatment of a power of attorney; provisions related to intrusive mental health treatment under a health care directive; alternatives to powers of attorney and health care directives; and practical uses for each document.
